Obs.: In my latest mods you can edit the hotkeys for Keyboard and for Controller using the Controls menu in the mod menu or in the mod Options menu :)
If the hotkey generates issues when pressed because it calls a game action like aiming or get in cover, you can disable the game action in that menu pressing T or the indicated button in the bottom of the menu.

In great part of my mods you can edit the self-generated .ini file (gta Scripts folder) and change hotkeys for keyboard and sometimes for XBox control too.
This is the list of XBox buttons that you can use to edit the XBox controls:
BUTTON BACK = 13
BUTTON START = 12
BUTTON X = 14
BUTTON Y = 15
BUTTON A = 16
BUTTON B = 17
BUTTON DPAD UP = 8
BUTTON DPAD DOWN = 9
BUTTON DPAD LEFT = 10
BUTTON DPAD RIGHT = 11
BUTTON TRIGGER LEFT = 5
BUTTON TRIGGER RIGHT = 7
BUTTON BUMPER LEFT = 4
BUTTON BUMPER RIGHT = 6
BUTTON STICK LEFT = 18
BUTTON STICK RIGHT = 19
Let me show a example, in Max Payne IV you want change the button from Left Shoulder/Bumper to DPad Down, this is what you do:
Change XhkActivate from 4 (Left Shoulder/Bumper) to 9 (DPad Down).
Save the file, reload the game and done!
